May 2, 2019 Fellow Feathers' Meeting Minutes

Postby RonB » Fri May 17, 2019 11:38 am

Present;
  • Rob Racer
  • John Rinaldi
  • Brad Martin
  • Chris Valley
  • Shaun Matthies
  • Randee Azzar (Wings of Rogallo President.)
  • Patrick Bowen
  • Ron Barry
  • John Simpson

Rob (President)
  • Memorial from noon to about 5. After that, we'll be going to the
boathouse. John will handle audio-video equipment.
    • There's a lot to do with food prep. He has enough people lined up
      to make it happen.

John Rinaldi (VP)
  • No mail-in renewals in the last couple weeks.

Brad (Safety Officer)
  • We discussed Chris Carillo's accident.
    • It was asked, "Who writes the accident report?" Brad has done it and
      sent it to USHPA.
    • Zac knows someone who will be checking out The Cove on a Jet ski,
tomorrow. Evidently, law enforcement says they think they can see
      the glider in the water.

John Simpson (Clubhouse)
  • "When are we going to have a new mural?"
    • Still talking about a projector-and-stencil job. No answer as to
      when.
  • We'll be putting up the security camera either Sunday (if not
    flyable) or early next week.

Other Business
  • A member took a tandem flight with their dog. The tandem rules
    (http://flyfunston.org/documents/TandemRegs.pdf) don't allow this.
    • There's concern that dogwalkers would make a public case of it,
regardless of whether there's an accident.
    • The concern was raised that any number of animal rights
champions would raise a public awareness issue for the club.
    • When we've asked GGNRA for a ruling on these things in the past,
their response has been to pass flying rulings back to us.
    • The motion was raised to strike rule #15 (disallowing dog
      tandems.) There was no second.
